I’m such a fan of westerns, so this comic was a lot of fun to write! Now if I could only wedge some classic science fiction in there, life would be a treat. Too bad science fiction in film won’t be all that popular in Hopton’s Vale for almost thirty years! I mean, there are only so many jokes one can get out of Melies or Fritz Lang.
Was anybody out for NXNE over the weekend? I didn’t make it to quite as many shows as I meant to, but I was definitely around, and I had a blast! Music makes the world go ’round, and this weekend it was definitely winding up Toronto.
Also, a reminder that our first official contest is still running! Comment on any comic between now and Friday, June 22 and you will be entered up to three times in a draw to have your image drawn in the background of an upcoming Alleged Whiskey issue. The winners will also be sent concept drawings of themselves in 1920s regalia.

Lilly sure is a good name for a bad girl.
But what I really wanted to mention was that this is the second webcomic about a speakeasy that I read. The first one is the excellent Lackadaisy, which I didn’t see anyone mention back where webcomics were listed. Though I suppose that could have been because everyone is already reading it?
Ooohh, I’ve seen Lackadaisy before, but I haven’t read it. The art is totally gorgeous though!
Lilly isn’t bad! She’s just drawn that way!
I can only read Lackadaisy in small doses before I have to go vomit with envy. It is so well done!
*Sigh* I KNOW you only update on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but that doesn’t stop me from checking in on the other days….*just in case.*
